From single mothers, newcomers, and job seekers, to families of all backgrounds, YWCA Prince Albert provides vital programs and services that help many people in our community build better lives and achieve economic independence.

For more than a century, YWCA Prince Albert has led the way with innovative programs and services to meet the changing needs of our community. Though the names of our programs may change over time, our commitment to empower individuals, families, and communities remains constant.

Central Avenue

Central Avenue focuses on providing transitional and crisis shelter and support for women, women with children, and youth of all genders facing a variety of challenges.

Community Connection Centre

Our Community Connection Centre offers a variety of free-of-charge services and programs for new and current residents of Prince Albert. These services are focused on serving newcomers to Canada, Indigenous peoples, and those from rural or remote communities.

Homeward Bound Oakdale

Oakdale provides a supportive living environment for youth with cognitive disabilities aging out of government care. Youth are provided with medium-level supports and programming tailored for their situation.

 

Homeward Bound Windsor

Homeward Bound is a housing-first initiative that moves individuals experiencing chronic, episodic homelessness rapidly into shelter. Staff provide support, referrals, and programming to assist with addiction recovery.

Kindred Spirit

Kindred Spirit provides shelter, support, and programming to parents who have lost their children to the care of the government, or who are trying to get their children back from care. Programming focuses on life skills, parenting, and financial responsibility.

Our House Supportive Recovery CEntre

Our House Supportive Recover Centre is an adult crisis shelter for women, and a recovery centre for those struggling with mental illness or addictions. Programming is designed to directly address client challenges while fostering a sense of community.

 

Phoenix Place

Phoenix Place is a youth peer-home designed for youth aging out of care who are transitioning into independent, adult life. Programming includes life skills sessions, cooking instruction, financial responsibility, and learning how to navigate the world.

Rendalyn Home

Rendalyn Home is a youth peer-home that provides shelter, programming, and support for young mothers and expectant mothers. Programming includes parenting sessions, life skills sessions, and managing parenting and school or work.

Settlement Services

Settlement Services provides services for newly-arrived permanent residents to Canada. Services support individuals and families to find housing, find employment, learn English, navigate the school systems, and learn about life in Canada.

 

Stepping Stones Shelter

Stepping Stones Shelter is a seasonal, overnight, first-come-first-served shelter for individuals living on the street during the frigid winter months. Individuals staying at here can access showers, laundry services, meals, and referrals to other programs.

Terrance Place & Harmony Home

Terrance Place and Harmony Home are youth peer homes that provide twenty-four hour support in a home-like environment. Youth are provided with meals, life skills lessons, transportation to and from school, and youth-centered activities.
